New Delhi: National Fee Committee recommended fixing the maximum fee incurred annually from the engineering students as Rs 1.89 lakh. The lowest fee shall not drop below Rs 79,000.

The committee has suggested a maximum of Rs 1.4 lakh and a minimum of Rs 67,000 for the engineering diploma and applied arts and science design courses. The annual fees of postgraduate engineering courses will be from Rs 1.41 lakh to 3.03 lakh.

AICTE submitted the recommendations of the National Fee Committee convened under the retired justice BN Sreekrishna to the Ministry of Education on Monday. Approval from the ministry and state governments are required to implement the renewed fee structure. The last revamp in the fee of engineering courses was rolled out seven years back.
