Thiruvananthapuram: The admission process for engineering courses in Kerala colleges will commence on July 1, as informed by Arun K Vijayan, the entrance examination commissioner. The category and community lists based on the rank list will be released at a later date.
A few students' results have been withheld due to application defects and other reasons. Their results will be published as soon as these issues are resolved.
Being in the rank list does not automatically guarantee admission eligibility for a student. Students must meet the criteria specified in the prospectus for professional degree admission. The college authorities will verify the educational qualifications at the time of admission. Additionally, the marks obtained in the qualifying examination, which are considered for the preparation of the engineering rank list, will also be cross-checked by the college authorities during the admission process. The commissioner emphasised that if any discrepancies are found in the submitted marks, the admission process will be cancelled.
Meanwhile, higher education minister R Bindu felicitated rank winners over the phone.
