CBSE cancels all Class 10 board exams in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. Class 12 exam on March 7 postponed. Check latest CBSE board exam update 2026.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled all remaining Class 10 board examinations for students in several Middle Eastern countries and postponed a key Class 12 examination amid the prevailing regional situation.
The decision applies to CBSE-affiliated schools located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The board announced the development on March 5 through its official account on the social media platform X.
The move comes after the board had earlier postponed multiple examinations scheduled earlier in the week. Following a review of the situation, CBSE has now cancelled the remaining Class 10 examinations and delayed the upcoming Class 12 test.
Class 10 examinations cancelled
According to the board’s latest update, all Class 10 examinations scheduled between March 7 and March 11 in the affected Middle Eastern countries have been cancelled.
Additionally, examinations that had earlier been postponed on March 2, March 5 and March 6 will also not be conducted.
CBSE said it will later announce how results for Class 10 candidates in the Middle East will be declared.
Class 12 examination postponed
For Class 12 students, the board has postponed the examination that was scheduled to take place on March 7. A revised date for the test will be announced later.
CBSE also said it will review the situation again on March 7 and decide on the status of examinations scheduled from March 9 onwards.
Students have been advised to stay in touch with their respective schools and monitor official announcements from the board.
Official CBSE notice
The official notice released by CBSE on its X account states, "In continuation of Circulars dated 01.03.2026 and 03.03.2026, and after a critical review of the prevailing situation in parts of the Middle East (Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE), the Board has taken the following decisions:
Class X Examinations
- All examinations scheduled from 07.03.2026 to 11.03.2026 stand cancelled.
- Examinations scheduled on 02.03.2026, 05.03.2026, and 06.03.2026, which were earlier postponed, shall also stand cancelled.
- The mode of declaration of results for Class X candidates in the Middle East will be notified separately in due course.
Class XII Examinations
- The examination scheduled on Saturday, 07 March 2026 has been postponed. Revised dates will be announced later.
- The Board will review the situation on Saturday, 07 March 2026 and issue appropriate directions regarding examinations scheduled from Monday, 09 March 2026 onwards.
- All Class XII students are advised to remain in close contact with their schools and follow official announcements carefully."
Earlier announcement
The latest circular follows an earlier announcement by CBSE in which examinations scheduled for March 5 and March 6 for both Class 10 and Class 12 students in the region had been postponed.
At the time, the board had said it would reassess the situation on March 5 and issue further guidance regarding examinations scheduled from March 7 onwards.
