Pathanamthitta: Alleged violation of rules have been reported in the NAAC accreditation inspections in certain colleges. As per the NAAC guidelines, an official should not be sent to a particular state, as the inspection committee chairman or member, for more than once. However, it is reported that in recent times, a NAAC officer had visited three colleges in three districts in southern Kerala. This is a violation of the NAAC rules.

In addition, NAAC rules also stipulate that the inspection committee chairman should have the experience of serving as a vice chancellor after teaching as a senior professor in any of the premium universities in the country.

But, in stark contrast to these regulations, the recent NAAC chairman/member coordinator who visited the colleges in Kerala was someone who had only served as a temporary VC in the Karnataka University in the past.
