The unemployment rate in the Kerala is the highest ever in 40 months. According to the data released by Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), the unemployment rate in Kerala in April 2020 is at 17 percent.
However, this rate is lower than the national average of 23.5 percent.
The unemployment rate in Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Bihar are above the national average and are at 49.8 percent, 47.1 percent and 46.6 percent respectively.
The lowest unemployment rate in India is in Punjab (2.9%), Chhattisgarh (3.4%) and Telangana (6.2%) repectively.
The unemployment rate in Kerala in September 2018 was at 4.3 percent.
