Exams originally scheduled for January 1-16, 2026, are cancelled. Affected candidates will now appear on January 8-9 or February 2-10, 2026.

New Delhi: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced a significant rescheduling of the Group D (Level 1) Computer-Based Test (CBT) under advertisement CEN 08/2024. The board cited "unavoidable circumstances" for the sudden shift in the examination timeline, which will now extend into February 2026.
Revised Exam Window and Specific Dates
While the massive recruitment drive initially began on November 27, 2025, the schedule for January 2026 has been heavily modified. The exams previously slated to run continuously from January 1 to January 16 have been cancelled.
The revised dates for affected candidates are as follows:
- January 2026: 8th and 9th.
- February 2026: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th.
New Delhi Centre Postponements
In addition to the general schedule shift, candidates assigned to specific centres in New Delhi faced immediate postponements earlier this week. Examinations at M.A. Global Online (Dec 21–22) and DS IT Solution (Dec 21–26) were halted. The RRB confirmed that these specific candidates will be reassigned to the new dates in early 2026.
Admit Cards and City Intimation
The RRB has withdrawn previously issued City Intimation Slips for the rescheduled dates.
- City Intimation: Fresh slips will be activated on regional RRB portals exactly 10 days prior to the new exam date.
- E-Call Letters: Candidates can download their updated admit cards 4 days before their exam.
Affected applicants are being notified via SMS and email. The board has urged candidates to verify their status only through official regional websites (e.g., rrbcdg.gov.in) to avoid misinformation.
New Vacancy Announcement
Concurrent with the rescheduling news, the Ministry of Railways released a short notification for CEN 09/2025, marking a new recruitment cycle for approximately 22,000 additional Level 1 posts.
- Detailed Notification: Expected Jan 20, 2026.
- Applications: Open from Jan 21 to Feb 20, 2026.
