Central University of Kerala, Tejaswini Hills, Periye PO, Kasaragod-671 316, has invited applications for admission to the PhD Programme, 2025-26.

PhD Programs are offered in the departments of English, Economics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Zoology, Genomic Science, Physics, Computer Science, Hindi, Mathematics, Plant Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, International Relations, Linguistics, Social Work, Education, Law, Malayalam, Public Health and Community Medicine, Public Administration and Policy Studies, Geology, Yoga Studies, Management Studies, Commerce & International Business, Tourism Studies, Kannada.

Eligibility: (a) Applicant should have completed one of the following :

(i) Two-year/four-semester Master’s Degree after a three-year Bachelor Programme, with a minimum of 55% marks aggregate or equivalent grade.

(ii) One year/two semester Master’s Degree after a four-year Bachelor Programme, with a minimum of 55% marks aggregate or equivalent grade.

(iii) Four-year Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 75 % marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.

(iv) M.Phil. Degree with 55% of marks or its equivalent grade.

(v) hold an equivalent qualification from an accredited/recognised foreign educational institution.

A relaxation of 5% marks/equivalent grade is allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Differently-Abled/EWS/other categories as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

(b) Applicants should have been offered/should have qualified Junior Research Fellowship of UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED or similar National level tests based on an interview or should have NET Score in the categories (i) Admission to Ph.D without JRF and appointment as Assistant Professor (ii) Admission to Ph.D programme only and not for the award of JRF or appointment as Assistant Professor. The marks obtained in NET in (i) & (ii) will be valid for a period of one year for admission to PhD.

Application fee is Rs. 1000/- for UR/OBC/EWS and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

All eligible candidates shall be required to undergo the interview/ viva-voce to assess the candidate's domain knowledge, subject knowledge, communication skills, and motivation for research.

Admission shall be based on the criteria notified by the University, in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), other regulatory bodies, and the reservation policies of the Government of India from time to time.
