Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, an advanced research institute established and funded fully by the Reserve Bank of India for carrying out research on development issues from a multi-disciplinary point of view, has invited applications for the Visiting Students Program, Summer 2020.
The Programme is intended for those who want to learn what academic research is all about and would like to learn the ropes and get some hands on experience working with faculty researchers.
The IGIDR Visiting Students Program is part of the institute’s mandate to reach out to the larger academic community, to foster interactions and nurture the capacity of students to undertake research.
Selected students will be assigned a faculty supervisor to work with for the duration of their visit. Students are expected to produce a report at the end of their sojourn in the IGIDR.
Eligibility: Applicant should be in the first year of their Master's program (M.A, M.B.A, M.Com, M.Sc. or M.Stat.) or third year Engineering (B.E. BTech) or fourth year of integrated Master's Program.
The Programme will be held for 45 days in one stretch from May 26, 2020 to July 09, 2020.
Stipend: An amount of Rs.9000/- will be paid as stipend for the entire period from 26th May 2020 to 9th July 2020, 2nd class roundtrip train fare, free accommodation on IGIDR campus.

Applicant should have (1) A statement in English not exceeding 300 words explaining (i) applicant’s research interests (ii) Why applicant would like to be considered for this program? (iii) What applicant hopes to achieve during the program? (2) An updated Curriculum Vitae (3) A scanned copy of a bonafide certificate, ready before starting online Application.
One recommendation letter from the Professor/Teacher of the applicant should be sent directly to summer@igidr.ac.in to reach on or before February 20, 2020.
