Nissan outlines India comeback plans with seven-seater GRAVITE B-MPV debuting in early 2026

Nissan Motor India has revealed that its upcoming seven-seater B-MPV will be called GRAVITE, with the model scheduled for launch in early 2026. The vehicle marks the first rollout under the company’s refreshed and carefully planned product line-up for the Indian market.
The GRAVITE has been developed with modern Indian families in mind. Nissan says the MPV focuses on versatility and modularity, aiming to meet the expectations of value-conscious households while supporting the expansion of the brand’s renewed product portfolio in the country.
The model was first announced in July 2024 as the second vehicle under Nissan Motor India’s product offensive. The company’s roadmap includes the launch of the GRAVITE in early 2026, followed by the Tekton in mid-2026 and a seven-seater C-SUV in early 2027. Nissan states that this line-up reflects its continued focus on widening and strengthening its presence in India.
Name inspired by balance and stability
According to the company, the name “GRAVITE” is derived from the word gravity. It represents balance, stability, and strong appeal, which Nissan links to its approach to family-focused vehicle design. The automaker says the MPV draws inspiration from India’s diverse population, cultural practices, and everyday needs, positioning the GRAVITE as a companion for aspirational Indian buyers.
Interior focused on modular design
Inside, the GRAVITE is designed to offer a spacious cabin with what Nissan describes as class-leading storage solutions. The interior layout features highly modular seating that can be reconfigured to suit different passenger and luggage requirements. The company notes that the design is intended to support both routine city use and longer family journeys.
Design aligned with global identity
The GRAVITE follows Nissan’s global design language and features the brand’s signature C-shaped front grille. This design element is intended to provide immediate brand recognition and a strong road presence. The MPV’s horizontal proportions and muscular stance are aimed at balancing modern styling with everyday practicality.
Nissan also claims that the GRAVITE is the only model in its segment to feature hood branding and rear-door badging. At the rear, the MPV continues the C-shaped interlock design theme, reinforcing its distinct visual identity on the road.
