Maniamma, a 72-year-old woman from Kerala, who has become a social media sensation for her fearless driving skills, is making waves once again, this time behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce Ghost on the roads of Dubai.

Known fondly as ‘Driver Amma’, Maniamma earned the nickname from vehicle enthusiasts who admire her ability to operate nearly every type of vehicle, from luxury cars to heavy-duty construction machines.

In her latest viral video, Maniamma is seen proudly displaying her International Driving Permit, before confidently taking control of the luxurious white Rolls-Royce while dressed in a traditional saree.

"She might be the oldest woman with an international driving license capable of operating almost every type of vehicle," wrote one social media user.

Who is Maniyamma?

A native of Ernakulam, Maniamma holds valid licenses to drive 11 different types of vehicles, ranging from luxury cars to excavators, forklifts, cranes, road rollers, buses, and tractors. Her social media pages are filled with videos of her confidently handling a wide variety of vehicles, showcasing not just skill, but also her unwavering passion.

Her journey began at a time when very few women in India ventured into driving, let alone operating heavy vehicles. Encouraged by her husband, who started a driving school in 1978, Maniamma learned to drive not only cars but also cranes and trailers.

After her husband's death in 2004, she took over the running of the driving school to support her family. From navigating the narrow roads of Kerala to manoeuvring through the bustling streets of Dubai, Maniamma’s fearless spirit and driving prowess have inspired audiences across the globe.
