Israel declares major victory in ‘Operation Rising Lion’, agrees to Trump’s ceasefire proposal

Jerusalem: The Government of Israel has declared the successful conclusion of Operation Rising Lion, claiming it has achieved all of its objectives and degraded Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities. In a high-level meeting held last night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened the Security Cabinet alongside top defence and intelligence officials to deliver the post-operation assessment.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Israel has "Israel has eliminated an immediate existential dual threat—both in the nuclear domain and in the area of ballistic missiles."
Officials further claimed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) now hold “full air superiority over Tehran, dealt a severe blow to Iran’s military leadership, and destroyed dozens of key government targets. Over the past 24 hours, the IDF also struck additional government targets in the heart of Tehran, eliminated hundreds of Basij operatives—the enforcement arm of the terror regime—and eliminated another senior nuclear scientist."
The IDF reportedly carried out strikes over the past 24 hours targeting key government installations in central Tehran, in what Israeli officials are calling a historic blow to Iran’s strategic capabilities.
Coordination with US and ceasefire announcement
The Israeli government also expressed gratitude to former US President Donald Trump, citing Washington's “support in defense” and role in helping dismantle the perceived nuclear threat.
“In light of the operation’s success, and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel has agreed to the President’s proposal for a mutual ceasefire,” the statement said.
However, officials cautioned that any breach of the ceasefire would be met with an immediate and “forceful response.” Citizens have been instructed to continue adhering to Home Front Command guidelines until the ceasefire is confirmed in full.
“Our hearts are with the families who have lost loved ones, and we send our wishes for a full recovery to the wounded,” the statement added, acknowledging the toll of the 12-day conflict.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is also expected to deliver a public address on Tuesday stressing on the broader implications of Operation Rising Lion and the ceasefire agreement.
