200 Israeli jets struck 100 targets in Iran

Jerusalem: In one of the most extensive aerial campaigns in its history, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that more than 200 fighter jets struck nearly 100 military targets across Iran overnight. Among those killed were three of Iran’s highest-ranking military officials.
The IDF announced via social media that the coordinated strikes eliminated the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and the Commander of Iran’s Emergency Command.
“These are three ruthless mass murderers with international blood on their hands. The world is a better place without them,” the IDF said in its official statement.
The strikes come as part of Operation Rising Lion, a pre-emptive campaign aimed at neutralising Iran’s nuclear ambitions and retaliating against Tehran’s recent acts of aggression against Israel, including direct missile launches and proxy attacks.
The unprecedented operation marks a significant escalation in the long-standing hostilities between Israel and Iran, with global powers watching closely amid fears of a wider regional war. Further retaliatory actions by Iran are widely anticipated.
