Tel Aviv: Iran has launched a new round of missile attacks on Israel, dubbed Honest Promise 3, marking the third retaliation within 24 hours against Israeli airstrikes deep inside Iranian territory.

State-run Iranian media confirmed the latest assault, reporting multiple projectiles fired towards Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

This escalation follows Israel’s massive aerial campaign, Operation Rising Lion, which struck sensitive Iranian infrastructure on Thursday night. According to Israeli officials, it was the country’s “greatest military operation in history” inside Iran.

The offensive targeted nuclear facilities, ballistic missile production centres, and command hubs. Several top Iranian military officers and nuclear scientists were reportedly killed.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed swift retaliation. In a televised speech to the nation, he declared: “We will not permit them to evade consequences for this significant wrongdoing they have perpetrated.” Khamenei added that Israel had started the conflict and warned of further action: “Do not assume that they attacked and it’s finished.”

Late Friday, air raid sirens wailed across Israeli cities as Iranian ballistic missiles and drones entered Israeli airspace. Explosions shook buildings in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Israeli authorities confirmed that at least 10 people were injured when a missile landed near a residential area in central Israel. The country’s Iron Dome air defence system reportedly intercepted several incoming threats, but some projectiles reached their targets.

This rapidly intensifying tit-for-tat raises fears of a broader regional war. The Israeli military remains on high alert, while Iran has issued warnings of continued response. Meanwhile, international observers have expressed concern that diplomacy is failing to contain the hostilities between the two arch-foes.
