Kannur: P. P. Divya, accused in the suicide case of Kannur ADM Naveen Babu, spent her first day in the women's prison at Kannur Central Jail engaging in conversations with prison staff and reading. All necessary procedures were completed by 10 pm on Tuesday, after which Divya was admitted to the facility.

To ensure her safety, jail staff are closely monitoring her to prevent any misbehaviour or mistreatment from other inmates. Divya is currently housed in the first block of the two-block women's jail, which features special rooms since it is a newly built facility.

As a remand prisoner, Divya does not face the same restrictions as convicted inmates and is allowed to wear clothes provided by her family. Prison authorities did not comment on whether Divya received any visitors on Wednesday. Cells typically open around 6:30 am, with breakfast served at 7:30 am.

Divya began her first day in jail by waking up at 6 am. She had surrendered to the police on Tuesday after her bail application was denied. Following her arrest, she was presented in the Taliparamba Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, where she was remanded.
