Mystery behind death of Mansoor murder case accused Ratheesh; autopsy report says he was strangled

Kannur: The post-mortem report of Kooloth Ratheesh, accused in Panoor Mansoor murder case who was found hanging the other day, revealed some mysterious facts. As per primary assumptions, Ratheesh was strangled before death. The post-mortem report was handed over to the investigating officers.

The report pointed out that Ratheesh had sustained injuries on his vital organs. An injury near the nose might have resulted from a scuffle. The autopsy report suggests that the death is unlikely to be a case of suicide. Soon after the report came, Vadakara Rural SP visited the place and conducted a detailed examination.

On Saturday morning, fingerprint experts, forensic team and dog squad arrived at Chekkiad where Ratheesh was found dead. After post-mortem in Kozhikode medical college, the body was handed over to Ratheesh’s relatives. A video of the post-mortem has been captured for further evidence. The body was later cremated on his house compound.

CPM worker Pullookkara native Kooloth Ratheesh (36) was found hanging in a deserted land in Chekkiad on Friday evening. Ratheesh was a vehicle body manufacturing worker. He was accused in the murder of Muslim League worker Mansoor in Panoor after the election. Following this, MP K Sudhakaran demanded detailed probe in the case.

The MP had alleged that Ratheesh might have been killed in order to hide the conspiracy behind the murder case. With this, the body was subjected to detailed examination again. The body was brought to his residence by 10 at night and last rites performed. Valayam police is investigating into his death.
