Chaos at Karipur airport: Passengers protest as multiple flights arrive simultaneously

Kozhikode: Monday morning saw a major disruption at Karipur International Airport as multiple flights arrived simultaneously, leading to severe congestion and passenger protests. Travellers faced long delays, with some waiting over two hours just for immigration checks.
The situation escalated as frustrated passengers became unruly, leading to intervention from security personnel to restore order. The chaos was triggered by the arrival of ten flights from Air India, Spice Jet, Indigo Air, and Gulf Air at 7 am, coming from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Bahrain, and Jeddah.
The airport was saturated with more than 5,000 passengers. Many travellers complained that the immigration department had insufficient counters to handle the large volume of people. Similar incidents have reportedly been happening at the airport recently.
