'Dark chapter in Federalism,' Stalin slams Centre’s rejection of TN’s Anti-NEET bill

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced on Friday that the resolution seeking an exemption from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the state, which had been sent for Presidential assent, has been rejected.

Despite this setback, Stalin assured the Assembly that the state would continue its efforts to abolish NEET. He also revealed that an all-party meeting will be convened on April 9 to discuss the next course of action in this regard.

Describing the rejection as a "dark chapter in federalism," the Chief Minister criticised the Centre for disregarding both the will of the people of Tamil Nadu and the state Assembly’s decision. He further stated that the Union government had ignored the clarifications provided by the state government through various ministries, resulting in the rejection of the NEET exemption request.
