Imphal: A meeting of the ruling BJP-led NDA legislators in Manipur passed a resolution demanding a "massive operation" against Kuki militants responsible for the brutal killings of three women and three children in Jiribam district. The resolution also stated that the case should be immediately transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further investigation. "The Centre to review the imposition of AFSPA as per the order dated November 14 with immediate effect," the statement said.

If the resolutions were not implemented within the specified time frame, the NDA legislators would consult with the people of Manipur to decide on further steps. The statement also assured that both the Centre and the state government would take swift action to restore peace and order in Manipur.

The MLAs also condemned the attacks on the properties of ministers and fellow legislators. Legal proceedings will be initiated against the perpetrators, based on the findings of the High Powered Committee, the Chief Minister's Secretariat confirmed.

Of the total MLAs, seven were absent due to medical reasons, while 11 others failed to provide any formal explanation for their absence, the statement said.
