Air India Phuket-Delhi flight hits turbulence; 12 onboard injured

Pune: An Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi experienced a turbulence-related incident during its journey on Tuesday, leaving 12 people onboard injured. The aircraft landed safely at Delhi airport, and all passengers and crew members were able to disembark.

Air India flight AI2379, operating from Phuket to Delhi, encountered brief in-flight turbulence during cruise, causing a momentary change in altitude, the airline said in a statement.

According to initial reports, 10 passengers and two cabin crew members suffered injuries during the incident. Air India said no serious injuries have been reported.

The airline said a small number of passengers and crew members with minor injuries were taken to a medical facility at Delhi airport for precautionary examination and treatment.

Air India’s airport team and medical personnel provided care to those affected after the aircraft landed.

Flight lands safely in Delhi

The aircraft completed its journey and landed safely in Delhi. All passengers and crew members onboard were able to exit the aircraft.

Flight tracking data from Flightradar24 indicated that the Airbus A320 operated flight experienced a loss of altitude before landing at Delhi airport.

Air India said it is providing necessary support to passengers and crew members affected by the incident and is cooperating with relevant authorities as part of the investigation.
