Dashcam evidence leads to arrest of IT CEO, executive and husband in Jaipur gang-rape case

Jaipur: Rajasthan Police have arrested Jitesh Prakash Sisodia, CEO of a private IT company based in Udaipur, along with senior executive Shilpa Sirohi and her husband Gaurav Sirohi, in connection with the alleged gang rape of a female colleague. The incident reportedly took place on December 20 following a birthday party organised by the CEO at a hotel in Udaipur.
According to police, the survivor, a manager at the same IT firm, attended the celebration along with the accused. The gathering began around 9 pm and continued until approximately 1.30 am, during which alcohol was consumed by those present. After the event concluded, the accused offered to drop the woman home.
Investigators said the woman was seated in the back seat of the car with Sisodia and Shilpa Sirohi, while Gaurav Sirohi was driving. During the journey, the car was stopped briefly, after which the complainant was allegedly given a substance. She stated that she lost consciousness shortly after consuming it.
The woman told police that she regained consciousness inside the moving car and later noticed injuries, leading her to suspect sexual assault. Crucially, she later accessed footage from the vehicle’s dashcam, which she alleged showed the assault taking place. The footage was submitted to the police as part of her complaint on December 23.
Based on the complaint and preliminary evidence, police arrested the three accused and produced them before a court, which remanded them to four days of police custody. Officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is ongoing, including forensic analysis and verification of digital evidence.
Police have stated that further action will depend on the outcome of the investigation and additional findings related to the incident.
