Kagiso Rabada praises fearless Vaibhav Sooryavanshi despite RR exit
Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada praised Rajasthan Royals’ teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for his fearless batting after GT defeated RR by seven wickets in Qualifier 2 to enter the IPL final.
The 15-year-old continued his impressive form with a blistering 96, following a 97 in the Eliminator, but RR fell short of securing a place in the title clash. Rabada credited Sooryavanshi’s success to his quick hands, ability to read lengths early, and fearless approach at the crease.
Rabada, who claimed two wickets, admitted GT’s bowlers occasionally missed their plans but managed to keep the match under control. He also praised bowling partner Mohammed Siraj for creating pressure from the opposite end.
Former India captain Anil Kumble described skipper Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 104 off 53 balls as a “chanceless” and “captain’s knock.” Ex-India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said the IPL final would feature the tournament’s two most consistent teams.
