WCC behind organised attack against B Unnikrishnan, says Sibi Malayil

Kochi: In a press meet held recently, office bearers of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), including Sibi Malayil, accused the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) of leading an organised attack against FEFKA General Secretary B Unnikrishnan. They claimed that the attack was part of a wider effort to destabilise FEFKA.
According to FEFKA office bearers, B Unnikrishnan, who leads the organisation with over 8,000 members, will not be removed from his position based on the allegations from just a few people. They expressed confidence in his ability to address the legal cases filed under his name. The office bearers also affirmed that the explanations provided by Unnikrishnan regarding the allegations were satisfactory, and no further action should be taken against him.
Resolution of disputes with Sandra Thomas, makeup artists
Sandra Thomas, a member of the producers' association, did not make any allegations within the organisation. The issues she raised within the FEFKA have been resolved in the presence of B Unnikrishnan. Disputes with makeup and hair artists, who had been vocal about their grievances, were also settled during a meeting led by the Regional Labour Officer.
The press conference also highlighted posts from WCC members on social media in support of the makeup artists who have raised allegations. According to FEFKA, these allegations, particularly those posted by Shalu Peyad, form part of the broader campaign against Unnikrishnan.
FEFKA President Sibi Malayil, along with Working Secretary Sohan Seenulal, Treasurer Satheesh R H, and other office bearers, attended the press meet and expressed their unwavering support for Unnikrishnan’s leadership.
