Malayalam film director B Unnikrishnan has been booked following a complaint filed by producer Sandra Thomas. The complaint alleges that Unnikrishnan threatened her for providing statements to the Hema Committee.
The FIR registered by the Ernakulam Central Police names B Unnikrishnan as the primary accused, with producer Anto Joseph listed as second accused in the case.
Sandra Thomas claims thet efforts are being made to exclude her from the film industry. She also alleged that she has been denied film opportunities since last August. Instructions were given by the accused not to hire her for any projects. As a result, she has been forced to stay away from films. In her complaint, Sandra also mentioned being insulted at an organisational meeting.
Initially, the police were reluctant to register the case, but after approaching the court, they proceeded on booking a case as per the court's instructions.
Sandra Thomas was earlier expelled from the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) for allegedly breaching the association's disciplinary standards. The KFPA had sought clarification from her regarding her criticisms after the release of the Hema Committee Report. However, her response was deemed unsatisfactory, leading to a show-cause notice and her subsequent expulsion.
