Ranjith tried to influence film awards jury against my movie: Director Vinayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Director Vinayan has accused Kerala State Chalachitra Academy chairman and director Ranjith of meddling with the state film awards of 2022. Vinayan alleged that Ranjith attempted to prevent his film from receiving awards.
Vinayan’s film, ‘Pathonpatham Noottandu,' won three awards for music direction, singing, and dubbing.
In his Facebook post, Vinayan accused the chairman of misusing his power to influence the jury. There was a collective conspiracy against his movie, said Vinayan.
Vinayan claims that he informed the concerned authorities about the chairman's interference, but no action was taken.
Vinayan questioned the significance of the state award and criticised "bias" in the selection process. He emphasised that the film's quality should speak for itself, and political motivations should not be involved in decision-making.
Vinayan also challenged Ranjith to refute his allegation, asserting that he is ready to provide concrete evidence if necessary.
