‘I carried two kids in my arms, Kalyani in one hand and Maya in the other,’ Priyadarshan gets emotional on Vismaya Mohanlal's debut

Legendary actor Mohanlal’s daughter, Maya, has officially stepped into the world of films with the upcoming project Thudakkam, marking a new chapter in the iconic family’s cinematic legacy.

Director Priyadarshan, who is also a close friend of Mohanlal, took to the occasion to extend his best wishes, saying:

"I carried two kids in my arms Kalyani in one hand and Maya in the other. That’s how we grew up as a family. As Lal mentioned today, we never imagined they would one day step into films. Just like how Kalyani had Lokah, let Maya’s Thudakkam be a beautiful beginning too. God bless Maya."

The formal launch ceremony took place at Crowne Plaza Kochi, where Mohanlal’s son Pranav Mohanlal, and Vismaya’s brother, marked the event by clapping for the commencement of the film. Suchitra Mohanlal performed the switch-on ‘ritual’. Reflecting on the moment, Mohanlal said he had never imagined his daughter would enter the film industry.

Produced under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas by Antony Perumbavoor, the Jude Anthany directorial also features Antony’s son Ashish in a lead role. Jakes Bijoy has composed the music, while Jomon T. John handles cinematography.

Fans are now apparently eagerly awaiting a movie in which Mohanlal, Pranav, and Vismaya will be sharing screen space.
