Kottayam: Three bodies, including two girls and a woman, were found lying on the railway track near Ettumanoor in Kottayam. The deaths are being treated as suicide, after a loco pilot claimed that the victims jumped in front of the train.

The loco pilot reported that despite several warnings by honking, the victims did not move or budge. Following the loco pilot’s statement, the police launched an investigation, which confirmed that the deceased, believed to be a woman and her daughters, intentionally took their own lives.

The deceased have been identified as Shiny (43), Aleena (11), and Evan (10), residents of Parolikkal. According to police, the likely cause of the suicide was family issues. Officials revealed that Shiny, who had been going through marriage separation procedures and was staying away from her husband, left home with her daughters, telling them they were going to church. Instead, they ended up at the Parolikkal railway crossing, where they jumped in front of the Nilambur Express.

The bodies have been sent to Kottayam Medical College for post-mortem procedures.
