New Delhi: RSS mouthpiece 'Organiser' has intensified its criticism of the Mohanlal-starrer L2: Empuraan, alleging that the film distorts the "very essence of Christianity" by placing "Lucifer, Satan and other infernal entities in the limelight".

In an article titled "Concern of the Christian Community Over Empuraan Movie: A Shocking Propaganda by Writer Murali Gopi and Prithviraj!", the publication accuses the filmmakers of deliberately hurting Christian sentiments through "sinful" references.

The article questions makers' creative choice to incorporate Christian themes, stating, "Christianity is seen as an easy target, precisely because its followers remain passive."

The article also criticised the filmmakers' decision to shoot a particular scene in a war-torn foreign country. "Out of all the locations in the world, why choose a church in a city that once symbolised Christian suffering under Islamic extremism?" it questioned.

It further argues that such portrayals would not be tolerated if directed at other religions. "What if a movie dared to fabricate such audacious claims about the Quran, Allah or the Prophet? The uproar would be deafening. Protests would erupt worldwide. Yet, when it comes to Christianity, there seems to be an eerie silence. The lack of response from the Christian community is puzzling, if not outright disturbing. Is it indifference? Apathy? Or a misplaced sense of tolerance?"
