'Empuraan' proves beyond doubt that the larger-than-life filmmaking style, often associated with non-Malayalam films, is indeed possible in Mollywood too. ‘Empuraan’ delves deep into the enigmatic world surrounding Khureshi Ab’raam and Zayed  Masood, unveiling the mysteries that bind them together. It also provides clarity on who Zayed  Masood truly is in relation to Ab’raam.

Manju Warrier’s transformation is particularly striking. If in ‘Lucifer’ she appeared as a vulnerable Priyadarshini Ramdas, in ‘Empuraan,’ she returns with newfound strength and an undeniable presence. It’s a refreshing evolution. Tovino Thomas’ character also undergoes a noticeable transformation from ‘Lucifer,’ while Indrajith’s Govardhan continues to be an intriguing, suspense-laden presence. The film’s antagonist and the actor portraying him deserve special mention for delivering a performance worthy of applause.

The film’s cinematography is nothing short of breathtaking, capturing every moment with stunning precision and elevating the grandeur of its storytelling. Cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev crafts visuals that rival Hollywood standards, while action choreographer Stunt Silva and his team push the boundaries of Malayalam cinema with breathtakingly choreographed sequences
