#TheKeralaStory2Goes Beyond trailer out now. In cinemas on 27th February, 2026.”

Trailer paints a grim and expansive narrative

The trailer opens with an alarming declaration warning that India could face a dramatic transformation within the next 25 years. The story then shifts to a case in Rajasthan, where a Hindu family approaches the police to file a POCSO complaint, claiming their teenage daughter was coerced into religious conversion – a moment underscored by the family’s distress.

Another narrative strand unfolds in Madhya Pradesh, focusing on a young Hindu woman who is deceived into marriage and subsequently compelled to change her faith.

The final storyline returns to Kerala, where a Muslim man allegedly pressures his Hindu partner after she refuses to convert, culminating in tense confrontations that highlight the central conflict.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film follows the experiences of three Hindu women portrayed by Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha. Their characters’ lives spiral into fear and uncertainty after falling in love with three Muslim men, forming the emotional backbone of the sequel.

Netizens react

Online reactions to the trailer were sharply split, with viewers expressing a wide range of opinions. Some users criticised it, calling it “worse” than the original film, while others described it as the “brutal” truth. Another group dismissed the storyline altogether, labelling it “propaganda” ahead of the 2026 elections.

One commenter noted, “It's not the reality of Kerala state, it's the reality of all Indian states. This type of incident happened all over India.”

Another remarked, “And bollywood just dropped the shittiest shit of the century trailer. "The Kerala story 2". If you didn't feel like puking after watching this, you are sick.”

Some expressed support, with one user saying, “It's our responsibility to support these movies.”

Others were more sceptical, including one who wrote, “Biggest manipulation in the history of Indian Cinema.”

Another wrote, “Just watched #TheKeralaStory2Trailer. Straight up islamophobic & unhinged—painting every Muslim as extremist, pushing vile tropes like forced beef-feeding, trapping Hindu girls for money, prostitution. Pure hate packaged as “reality.” Disturbing how easily they fuel division.”

Another questioned the premise entirely, asking, “Where is Kerala in Kerala Story?”
