Vivo has taken its latest book-style foldable, the X Fold6, beyond China, bringing a combination of a high-resolution camera system, a larger battery and a slim design to global markets.

The foldable, which debuted in China in June, features a 200-megapixel primary camera, dual LTPO AMOLED displays and a 6,900mAh battery. It is powered by MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset and runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.

Vivo has not yet officially confirmed the India launch. However, several media reports have tipped October 6 as the likely launch date, with the phone expected to be available in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants.

Vivo X Fold6: 200MP camera with Zeiss optics

Photography is one of the key upgrades on the X Fold6. The phone features a 200-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation and Zeiss T coating.

The main camera is joined by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto lens that also supports macro photography. The setup marks a shift from the triple 50MP camera arrangement used on the previous-generation X Fold5.

The foldable also has 20-megapixel cameras on both the inner and outer displays for selfies and video calls.

Two 120Hz displays

The X Fold6 gets an 8.02-inch 2K+ LTPO AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch FHD+ LTPO AMOLED cover display.

Both screens support adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz and are rated for peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits.

The slightly smaller inner display compared with the X Fold5 is paired with a slim chassis, with the phone measuring just 4.4mm when unfolded. The Prism Black version weighs 228 grams.

6,900mAh battery and 80W charging

Battery capacity is another major highlight. Vivo has equipped the X Fold6 with a 6,900mAh battery, a substantial increase over the 6,000mAh batteries in the X Fold5 and Xiaomi 18 Fold mentioned in the source comparison.

The phone supports 80W wired fast charging, 40W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

For a foldable designed around productivity and multitasking, the larger battery could be particularly useful for users spending long hours on the device.

Dimensity 9500 Super Edition and OriginOS 7

Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold6 is powered by MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor. It comes with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The phone runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. Vivo has added several productivity-focused features, including support for up to four resizable app windows, drag-and-drop functionality between applications and AI-generated meeting summaries.

The foldable can also be connected to an external display and used in a desktop mode.

Slim design with high durability

Despite its large battery and foldable form factor, Vivo has kept the X Fold6 relatively slim. The device measures 4.4mm when unfolded and weighs 228 grams in the Prism Black variant.

It also carries IP58, IP59, IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Vivo X Fold6 India price and launch

Vivo has not officially announced the X Fold6’s India launch date or local pricing.

The phone starts at CNY 7,999 in China, which is roughly Rs 1.1 lakh based on the conversion cited in the source. The previous-generation Vivo X Fold5 was launched in India at Rs 1,59,999.

The reported October 6 India launch and expected storage variants remain unconfirmed until Vivo makes an official announcement. Its eventual India price will be a key factor in determining how the X Fold6 stacks up against other premium foldables, including Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
