Get ready for an epic 2026! Discover highly anticipated games like GTA 6, Marvel's Wolverine, Resident Evil: Requiem, and more

After a packed 2025 that delivered acclaimed releases such as Ghost of Yotei, Donkey Kong Bananza, Death Stranding 2 and Elden Ring Nightreign, alongside the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, the video game calendar is far from slowing down. In fact, 2026 is shaping up to be an even more ambitious year, with several high-profile titles lined up across consoles and PC.
Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI)
At the centre of attention is Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI). Widely regarded as one of the most anticipated releases in gaming history, Rockstar Games’ next blockbuster has already faced multiple delays. The latest schedule places its release on November 19, 2026, after being moved from its earlier May 26 window. At launch, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, a setting inspired by Florida. Players will be able to explore a range of distinct regions, including Vice City, modelled on Miami, as well as Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Mount Kalaga, the Leonida Keys and the Glass Rivers, drawing inspiration from the Florida Everglades. The narrative follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, whose partnership echoes a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde story.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Sony’s PlayStation lineup for 2026 also looks strong, with Marvel’s Wolverine expected to be a major release. Developed by Insomniac Games, the studio behind Marvel’s Spider-Man, the title is not designed as a family-friendly experience, and expectations are high following the developer’s recent successes. While a precise launch date has yet to be confirmed, the game is slated to arrive sometime in 2026.
Resident Evil: Requiem
Horror fans have reason to be excited as well. Resident Evil Requiem will serve as the next main entry in Capcom’s long-running survival horror series. The game introduces a new protagonist while also featuring series icon Leon S. Kennedy.
Saros
Another PlayStation-exclusive worth watching is Saros. Developed by Housemarque, known for Returnal, the game is described as a roguelike shooter and is scheduled to launch in April 2026. Like the studio’s previous work, it is expected to focus on fast-paced combat and replayability, built specifically for the PlayStation 5.
Other games
Beyond these headliners, 2026 will also see the arrival of several other notable titles. Games such as Nioh 3, 007 First Light, Pragmata, Forza Horizon 6 and Lords of the Fallen 2 are all in development, with releases planned across different platforms. Together, they point to a year that could be one of the most diverse and exciting for gamers in recent memory.
