The initiative highlights the passion and creativity within the BGMI community, blurring lines between the virtual and real worlds

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has kicked off a brand-new digital storytelling series called ‘Beyond Battlegrounds’, aimed at highlighting extraordinary stories from its gaming community. The series is designed to shine a light on fans whose creativity and dedication go well beyond the virtual battlefield.
Bringing a game to life — literally
The series begins with an emotional short film that follows the story of Karan Kargwal, a 28-year-old railway technician from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. Karan’s passion for the game led him to build a full-sized, fully functional replica of the iconic BGMI buggy, right on the roof of his modest home. What makes it even more remarkable is that he made it entirely from scrap parts, driven by sheer determination and love for the game.
Crafted in partnership with Veeville Consulting, the cinematic film captures everything from late-night welding under Rajasthan’s desert skies to Karan reverse-engineering the buggy using nothing but a few in-game screenshots and a 3D model. The storytelling blurs the line between digital and real, capturing just how deep gaming passion runs in the hearts of everyday Indians.
This buggy is more than metal and wheels
On screen, Karan expresses what the build means to him. “This buggy is more than metal and wheels. It’s proof that when passion meets purpose, unexpected dreams can come alive,” he says, perfectly summing up the spirit of the series.
Saurabh Shah, Head of People Operations at KRAFTON India, praised Karan’s dedication:
“Karan’s story is a shining example of the passion and talent emerging from Rajasthan. His story is not just inspiring, it has the potential to set a strong example for countless others who dare to dream beyond limitations. Through Beyond Battlegrounds, we are proud to champion voices like his that are redefining what gaming culture means in India’s heartland.”
For the creative team at Veeville Consulting, working on the film was more than just a project. Dhruva Vorkady, Creative Strategist at Veeville, shared,
“Among everything we’ve worked on, this film stood out with its emotional intensity, authenticity, and grassroots resonance, it literally stops you in your tracks. Collaborating with KRAFTON on this was incredibly rewarding, not just because of the story we got to tell, but because of the shared vision to celebrate creators from the heart of India in the most honest way possible.”
A platform for passion
Beyond Battlegrounds is being positioned as a long-term series that will celebrate stories of determination, creativity, and community within the BGMI fan base. With a strong start, the initiative sets the stage for many more real-life tales of gaming fans who are not just players, but creators, dreamers, and changemakers.
