Samsung`s One UI 8.5 leaks hint at a design refresh similar to iOS 26, featuring compact settings, redesigned dialer, and more.

Samsung’s next software update, One UI 8.5, is reportedly in development and could introduce a design overhaul that bears striking similarities to Apple’s iOS 26.
According to leaks shared on SammyGuru, One UI 8.5 refines Samsung’s interface with compact Settings menus, a redesigned dialer, and updates to the Device Care section. The report suggests the new design language leans closer to Apple’s latest iOS update.
What to expect?
Revamped Settings: SammyGuru reports that menu items in the Settings app are now more condensed, with subtitles removed and the search bar moved to the bottom for easier reach. Both the top and bottom edges feature gradient effects, while drop shadows appear on containers and the search bar. Categories in the expanded search view now appear in a three-column grid.
Design comparisons with iOS 26: Twitter user DalgleishGX noted the resemblance between Samsung’s new Settings layout and iOS 26, which also uses floating search bars and back buttons. However, Samsung’s version does not feature Apple’s “Liquid Glass” styling.
Update section redesigned: As per SamMobile, the check for updates option has been shifted to the bottom of the Settings menu. Currently, One UI 8 requires multiple taps to reach the Download and install option.
My Files app changes: SammyGuru highlights that internal storage now appears as a separate category. Instead of exact numbers, the storage pill displays usage in percentages for a quicker overview. The search bar has been moved to the bottom for one-handed use, folder icons return to the classic yellow design, and folder paths are displayed inside pill-shaped elements for consistency.
According to Android Authority, One UI 8.5 may also introduce automatic call screening. The feature can detect and answer suspicious calls without user input, generating a live transcript of the caller’s speech.
