OnePlus introduces OP Gaming Core, a chip-level innovation promising ultra-smooth 120 FPS mobile gaming performance

OnePlus has announced its latest innovation in mobile gaming technology, introducing OP Gaming Core, a system engineered to transform smartphone gaming through advanced chip-level optimisation. The company claims that this next-generation gaming engine combines deep hardware and software integration to deliver enhanced responsiveness, control, and performance stability — including ultra-smooth 120 FPS gameplay in top mobile titles.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), OnePlus wrote, “No lag, no limits. #OPGamingCore”.
OP Gaming Core: A deep hardware-level gaming engine
Built from the ground up with over 20,000 lines of original code and backed by 254 gaming optimisation patents, OP Gaming Core redefines how performance is managed at the hardware layer. It is designed to function deep within the Android system framework, reconstructing how processing resources are allocated during demanding gaming sessions.
At its centre is the OnePlus CPU Scheduler, an intelligent resource management system that replaces Android’s standard Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS). This new scheduler enables more targeted CPU allocation and can reduce redundant processing instructions by up to 22.74% during critical gameplay moments.
Upcoming OnePlus devices, including the anticipated OnePlus 15 series, are expected to feature this optimisation technology. The result is improved power efficiency, refined thermal management, and consistently high frame rates at 120 FPS — all contributing to smoother, more immersive gaming. A dedicated per-frame power management system also ensures that frame rate drops are minimised for a seamless visual experience.
OnePlus Performance Tri-Chip: Hardware architecture for gamers
Enhancing the OP Gaming Core’s capabilities is OnePlus’ Performance Tri-Chip architecture, a trio of purpose-built hardware modules designed to boost gaming performance from multiple fronts:
- Performance Chip: Oversees system performance and manages intensive processing tasks.
- Touch Response Chip: Handles touch input, ensuring ultra-fast touch accuracy and lower latency — vital for competitive gaming.
- Wi-Fi Chip G2: Enhances network reliability, reducing lag and stutter even under weak signal conditions.
