Bandai Namco and Toei Animation will make the official announcement, fueling fan excitement for what could be a next-gen console/PC title

Bandai Namco and Toei Animation will officially announce a new Dragon Ball game on January 25, 2026, during the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The announcement, dubbed the “New Game Super Announcement Stage,” is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. JST (7:30 am Wednesday IST) as part of a full-day event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball franchise.
The new game project is expected to be a significant addition to the Dragon Ball gaming lineup, potentially expanding beyond past titles such as Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO and Dokkan Battle. Fans speculate the game could be a next-generation console and PC title, possibly featuring an open-world RPG or a cinematic fighting game experience.
The Genkidamatsuri event will also include appearances by Masako Nozawa, the voice actor for Goku, and Akio Iyoku, the franchise’s executive producer. Additional segments will provide updates on various Dragon Ball media projects.
While specific details about the game's title, genre, and platform have yet to be disclosed, expectations are high that this new Dragon Ball game will build on the legacy of popular titles like Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi and the Xenoverse series.
