PlayStation India has officially announced a midnight launch for the eagerly awaited PlayStation 5 exclusive, Ghost of Yotei, scheduled for October 2, 2025, across select stores in India. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, this spiritual sequel to Ghost of Tsushima brings thrilling combat, a stunning open world, and an emotionally compelling story that promises to captivate gamers nationwide.

Midnight launch

Enthusiasts in major cities, including Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Lucknow, can get their hands on the game starting at midnight. Key retail locations such as Game The Shop in Mumbai’s Infinity Mall and DT Zone in New Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh will host launch events, marking one of India’s biggest gaming releases this year.

Gameplay and features

Ghost of Yotei introduces players to Atsu, a new protagonist on a relentless quest for vengeance nearly 300 years after the events of the original. The game offers an expansive open world rich with exploration opportunities, immersive side quests, and stunning landscapes around the fictional Mount Hyotei region.

Combat is the heart of the experience, featuring five diverse melee weapons, including katana, dual blades, and spear, each with its own upgrade paths. Players can skillfully chain parries, strikes, and weapon swaps, creating a dynamic and exhilarating combat dance. Atsu's arsenal also includes ranged weapons like bows and firearms, allowing for strategic versatility. The innovative Onryō’s Howl instils fear in enemies, augmenting stealth and combat tactics.

This edition fully harnesses the PS5’s power with advanced ray tracing modes, including a Pro mode for PS5 Pro owners that delivers up to 60fps with striking visuals. The DualSense controller integration elevates immersion, simulating environmental effects like raindrops and enhancing sensory feedback during combat and exploration.

Customisation and special modes

Players can personalise Atsu with extensive armour sets, weapon decals, charms, and accessories, crafting a unique look and playstyle. Special modes such as Kurosawa mode (black-and-white visual style), Miike mode (intensified combat), and Watanabe mode (lo-fi music experience) enrich replayability and offer aesthetic variety.
