Garmin has officially announced the launch of the Garmin quatix 8 Pro, the latest flagship in its celebrated line of nautical multisport smartwatches. Designed specifically for mariners, sailors, and ocean explorers, the Garmin quatix 8 Pro arrives as a comprehensive tool for life on the water, blending high-end luxury with rugged, sea-ready technology.

The Garmin quatix 8 Pro is priced at $1,299.99 ( approximately ₹1,17,200), and will go on sale from January 16 via Garmin’s official website.

Next-gen connectivity: Built-in LTE and satellite technology

The most significant leap in the quatix 8 Pro is the integration of inReach technology (subscription needed). The smartwatch offers LTE and satellite connectivity for two-way messaging and interactive SOS alerts, with service availability varying by region and network coverage.

This allows users to remain in contact with loved ones or emergency services even when sailing far beyond the reach of traditional cellular coverage. The "Pro" designation ensures that safety is prioritized, offering peace of mind to those traversing deep-sea routes.

Brilliant AMOLED display and premium build

The Garmin quatix 8 Pro features a stunning 51 mm AMOLED and 47 mm PRO AMOLED display, providing vibrant colors and deep blacks that remain legible even under the harsh glare of the midday sun.

To withstand the rigors of marine environments, the watch is constructed with a high-strength titanium bezel, fiber-reinforced polymer with titanium rear cover and a scratch-resistant sapphire lens. Despite its elegant appearance, the watch is built for durability, featuring a design that can transition seamlessly from the helm of a yacht to a formal dinner.

Advanced marine and dive functionality

True to its nautical roots, the Garmin quatix 8 Pro offers unparalleled integration with Garmin’s marine ecosystem. Beyond navigation, the watch is equipped for underwater exploration with dedicated dive functionality and leakproof buttons, supporting recreational diving activities.

Utility meets wellness at sea

The company has equipped the Garmin quatix 8 Pro with several "standard" luxury features that enhance daily utility.

The smartwatch comes with a built-in LED flashlight, 32 GB memory and a lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 15 days of battery life, up to eight days with always-on mode, and up to 19 days using battery saver mode.

From a health perspective, the watch features an ECG app for monitoring heart rhythm and offers a wide range of wellness tracking tools. These include wrist-based heart rate monitoring, resting heart rate tracking, high and low abnormal heart rate alerts, respiration rate measurement and fitness age. It also supports all-day stress tracking, relaxation breathing timers, advanced sleep tracking, hydration monitoring, women’s health tracking with past ovulation estimates, a jet lag adviser, and an overall health status feature.

With its massive battery life and nautical-specific mapping, the Garmin quatix 8 Pro stands as the most capable marine wearable Garmin has ever produced.
