Apple’s latest software release, iOS 26, is barely a week old, yet iPhone users worldwide have already taken to Reddit and Twitter to share their frustrations—and plenty of memes—over the update. While Apple touted the upgrade as a bold step forward with a refreshed Liquid Glass design, real-world feedback suggests a wave of iOS 26 issues is causing headaches for early adopters.

On Reddit, a user named Ok_Emphasis_6757 shared a photo of their iPhone 13 mini riddled with colourful display lines, writing, “Updated my 13 mini to iOS 26, after almost 3 hours, this happened.” The post quickly racked up over 1.1k upvotes, sparking a string of sarcastic replies.

One joked, “Some get green lines, some black lines, and some pink. You got all of them—sympathy, man.” Another chimed in, “Bro collected all three starter Pokémon.” Others mocked Apple’s glitches, with comments like “Unholy RGB upgrade” and “Bro’s phone got French citizenship. Viva la France.”

Similar complaints flooded Twitter, where users shared frustrations over laggy animations in iOS 26 and keyboard lag iOS 26, often with memes poking fun at Apple’s polished keynote promises versus the messy rollout.

A viral post read: “First time I hate the new iOS 26 so much. Everything is wobbly, flashy, distracting. Most of things are unreadable.”

Beyond the jokes, several users reported real iOS 26 performance problems, ranging from battery drain in iOS 26—with some devices losing 20–40% charge in just an hour—to overheating in iOS 26, stuttering animations, and even iCloud data loss linked to failed backups or sync errors.

The revamped Liquid Glass design has also left some struggling with UI lag in iOS 26 and app layout changes, while the update’s hefty storage demand—over 6GB to download and 10GB to run—forced users to clear space before installing.
