The ongoing Flipkart Big Billion Day sale offered attractive discount prices for the Apple iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, drawing thousands of eager buyers hoping to bag the deal. The sale initially opened for Flipkart Black and Plus members on September 22 and went live for all users from Tuesday. However, the excitement soon turned into frustration, as numerous customers reported that their iPhone 16 orders were abruptly cancelled by Flipkart, sparking allegations of a Flipkart scam. Critics are questioning whether this was a transparency issue, a sales strategy, or part of a larger Flipkart Big Billion Days scam.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro orders cancelled amid sale

Flipkart had promoted significant discounts on the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. The Big Billion Day sale page listed the 128GB iPhone 16 for ₹51,999, while the 128GB iPhone 16 Pro was priced at ₹69,999. During early access, several customers successfully placed orders at these discounted rates, only to find their purchases cancelled within hours—even after payment had been completed.

Social media erupts over iPhone 16 Pro Flipkart cancellations

Social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), have been flooded with complaints about the iPhone 16 Pro Flipkart cancellation.

One user wrote, “Hi @Flipkart, I ordered an iPhone 16 Pro, Order ID: OD435533473819891100). Order was cancelled from your side citing "quantity limits," refund processed Why should a genuine customer suffer for seller’s cancellation?”

The problem seems especially prevalent for orders placed on September 23 at midnight. Some Flipkart and Plus members have reported that their devices, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max, have been shipped but not yet delivered, adding to the confusion.

Some buyers reported receiving a “High Demand” message while attempting to place their orders. One user vented their frustration on social media by writing, “Like every year, Flipkart has fooled us again. From the very first moment of the Big Billion Day sale, it was flashing the ‘High Demand!’ message while I was trying to buy the iPhone 16 Pro. And guess what? It went out of stock in less than a minute. Well done, Flipkart, for fooling the whole nation once again.”

Another user expressed scepticism over trusting Flipkart’s sale offers, writing, “Sad to see that flipkart had cancelled soo many iPhone 16 series ordered during BBD Sale, This is the case every year and this is very sad How can this price drop be trusted?”

Despite this, many buyers remain sceptical of Flipkart’s sale tactics, raising concerns over the ongoing Big Billion Day controversy. Flipkart has yet to issue an official statement addressing the cancellations or explaining how it will restore customer trust during the sale.
