Cadillac joins as a new entrant, expanding the grid to 22 drivers.

The 2026 Formula 1 season grid has been finalised, confirming the driver line-ups across all 11 teams for what promises to be a season of high stakes and significant regulation changes. With the entry of Cadillac as a new team, the field expands to 22 drivers, blending experience, youth, and fresh talent in a reshaped competitive landscape.
Unchanged Powerhouses
McLaren, the reigning Teams’ champions, have kept their winning duo intact. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will continue their partnership into the 2026 season, aiming to build on the momentum that saw them at the forefront of the 2025 championship battle. Meanwhile, Mercedes has stayed loyal to George Russell and promising rookie Kimi Antonelli. Russell’s consistent top finishes and Antonelli’s impressive rookie season, in where he clinched poles and podiums, aim to reignite Mercedes’ dominant streak from earlier years. Ferrari has retained its star pairing of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, keen to bounce back after a challenging 2025 season that yielded no victories.
Key Changes and Rookies
Red Bull has made a notable change by promoting Isack Hadjar to partner Max Verstappen, replacing Yuki Tsunoda, who will now serve as a reserve driver. This new pairing comes with high expectations, as Verstappen looks to leverage his vast experience alongside the rookie’s potential. Racing Bulls will see Liam Lawson staying with the team while welcoming newcomer Arvid Lindblad, an 18-year-old stepping up from Formula 2.
Other teams have opted for continuity. Williams keeps Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz after a strong 2025, Haas retains Esteban Ocon with rising star Ollie Bearman, and Aston Martin sticks with veteran drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, with Adrian Newey taking over as Team Principal. Audi, formerly Kick Sauber, pairs seasoned Nico Hulkenberg with rising talent Gabriel Bortoleto.
Midfield and New Entries
Alpine maintains Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, while Cadillac debuts with experienced Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, both eager to prove their worth in this new chapter of F1.
