New York: Olympic gymnastics icon Simone Biles has shared a fresh health update from the hospital, revealing that she recently underwent a medical procedure more than a month after suffering what she previously described as a life-threatening medical emergency.

The seven-time Olympic gold medallist posted a selfie on her Instagram Story from a hospital bed alongside her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, thanking him for being by her side despite it being his birthday.

In the photo, Biles is seen wearing a hospital gown and surgical cap while smiling alongside Owens, who celebrated his 31st birthday by accompanying her to the hospital. She also added white heart and happy-crying emojis to the post.

The 29-year-old gymnast did not disclose the nature of the procedure or confirm whether it was connected to the medical emergency she suffered in early June. However, she later shared another update indicating she was recovering well, saying she woke up singing BossMan Dlow's song "Talk My St."

Biles first revealed her health scare on June 6, when she shared photos from the hospital and described it as one of the most frightening experiences of her life.

"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age."

"But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week."

"This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life, especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices."

At the time, Owens was away attending training with his NFL team while Biles recovered at home. She later thanked family members and friends who visited her, called her and sent flowers during her recovery.

Although Biles had earlier assured fans that she would eventually explain what happened, she has continued to keep the details of her diagnosis private.

"I'll explain sooner or later."

When followers questioned why she had not revealed more information after posting photos from holidays in Belize and the Dominican Republic, Biles responded that she was still not ready to discuss the incident.

"Not ready to talk about it just yet."

She also defended her decision to travel while recovering, explaining that the trip had been part of her healing process.

"A little over two weeks ago, I experienced a serious medical emergency that could have ended very differently."

"This trip has been part of allowing myself to heal and appreciate being here."

"I hope you understand that life-changing experiences can shift your perspective and that you're able to extend a little more grace to others moving forward."

Biles also clarified that a drink seen in one of her holiday videos was non-alcoholic.

Since then, the decorated gymnast has gradually returned to public appearances, including attending the 2026 ESPYS with Owens. While her latest hospital update reassured fans that she is recovering, Biles has maintained that she will share the full story behind her medical emergency only when she feels ready.
