Kozhikode: The Mananthavady Municipality on Sunday has renamed a junction in the hilly district after Minnu Mani, the first women cricketer from Kerala to play for the national team.
The Mysuru Road Junction in Wayanad is renamed as "Minnu Mani Junction."
The Delhi Capitals, Minnu's IPL team, uploaded a photo from her hometown on Sunday that showed a signboard identifying the junction as "Minnu Mani Junction."
The 24-year-old has been in exceptional form and made her Women's Twenty20 International cricket (WT20I) debut against Bangladesh Women earlier this month.
She finished the series as India's highest wicket-taker, with 5 wickets from three matches, and booked a place in the national squad for the 19th Asian Games.
