Thiruvanthapuram: Minister of Sports V Abdurahiman would travel to Japan as the official representative of the Kerala government for the Olympics. An order released by the political wing of the public administration department stated that the minister will bear the expenses associated with the travel. 

The Kerala government sought permission from the central government regarding the visit spanning 23 days. The official visit will last from July 21 to August 12. The minister’s private secretary told mathrubhumi.com that more details of the trip would be discussed later.

The Olympics would commence on July 23, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan.
