The highly anticipated fight between boxing legend Mike Tyson and YouTube sensation-turned-boxer Jake Paul quickly became the talk of the town. However, it was not because Jake Paul defeated the 58-year-old Tyson or due to the latter’s wardrobe malfunction during a pre-fight interview -- it was because Netflix's servers crashed throughout the match duration.
Netflix's highly anticipated debut in streaming major boxing events was marred by technical difficulties, leaving thousands of fans frustrated with a disrupted viewing experience.
Held at AT&T Stadium, the event was streamed live on Netflix. What was meant to be an exciting night of boxing soon turned into a nightmare for viewers, as many reported issues with the stream, including buffering problems and poor video quality.
As the technical issues continued, frustrated viewers took to X (formerly known as Twitter), to voice their anger. However, instead of just complaints, the online community found a way to make the best of the situation -- by creating hilarious memes about the disastrous streaming experience.
One user wrote, “Netflix telling me to check my internet speed knowing full well it’s an issue on their end #netflixcrash #PaulTyson”.
Another user wrote, “Netflix executives watching these streaming issues”.
One commented, “One of the worst streaming ever. Fix this next time, please.”
