Mumbai: In a historic moment, Malayali cricketer Minnu Mani will captain the Indian Women's A team facing the England Women's A team in the upcoming T20 series. The three-match series will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 19 November, 1 & 2 December.

Senior team members Kanika Ahuja and Monica Patel have also been included in the T20 squad. Minnu is the first Keralite to captain an Indian side in international cricket.

Minnu made her senior team debut on July 9, 2023, against the Bangladesh women's team in Mirpur. She has taken five wickets in four T20Is for India so far. She is also the first Malayali woman cricketer to play a T20 match for the Indian national team. Minnu was also a member of the Indian women's team that won gold in the Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.
