Jemimah Rodrigues, the prominent Indian cricketer, has had her three-year membership at the Khar Gymkhana in Mumbai revoked following controversy surrounding her father, Ivan Rodrigues. Reports from The Indian Express indicate that the club's officials felt compelled to take this action after complaints from members regarding Ivan's use of the club's facilities to conduct religious activities. Allegations suggest that these events aimed at converting vulnerable individuals, prompting the club to reconsider Jemimah's membership during an annual general meeting held on Sunday. Notably, she was awarded honorary membership at Khar Gymkhana in 2023, marking a great achievement in her career.

As per a Crickit report, Jemimah Rodrigues's father allegedly organised 35 religious events at Khar Gymkhana's presidential hall over a year and a half, linked to Brother Manuel Ministries. Gymkhana officials, including member Shiv Malhotra, expressed concern about these activities violating their bye-laws, which prohibit religious events. Former president Nitin Gadekar reported witnessing trance music and religious chants during one event, leading to protests and a decision to cancel Jemimah's father's membership.
