Nagoya: Indian compound archer Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru delivered a commanding display to capture the men's individual bronze medal at the Asian Games on Thursday.
Ganesh, who claimed a gold medal as part of the men's team on Wednesday, overcame Vietnam's Cong Duc Dang 149-144 in the bronze medal play-off after missing out on a spot in the individual gold match following a semi-final defeat.
The 20-year-old Indian turned in a flawless shooting performance during the play-off, hitting the target cleanly on 14 out of his 15 attempts.
Earlier, Ganesh fell 144-148 to South Korea's Kim Jongho in the semi-finals after failing to replicate his stellar quarter-final form. He trailed throughout the last-four clash, dropping the series scores 29-30, 29-30, 29-28, 29-30, and 28-30.

In the quarter-finals earlier in the day at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square, Ganesh swept past Chinese Taipei's Chieh-Lun Chen 148-138.
During that encounter, Ganesh claimed all five series with identical or near-perfect scores of 29-28, 29-28, 30-29, 30-26, and 30-27. He registered just two 9s, both in the opening two series, before embarking on a flawless streak of 10-pointers.
Meanwhile, Chikitha Taniparthi missed out on securing a hat-trick of medals after bowing out in the women's compound individual quarter-finals.

Chikitha, who secured gold medals in both the women's team and mixed team compound competitions on Wednesday, suffered a narrow 143-144 defeat to Indonesia's Nurisa Dian Ashrifah in the last eight.
