A hilarious on-field moment from Day 3 of the ongoing India vs England fourth Test has gone viral on social media. India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught on the stump mic unleashing some playful banter during England's innings. Clapping enthusiastically to lift team morale during a tough bowling session, Jaiswal shouted, “Macha, I need some English here. I want to hear some English from you, come on!”—a line that’s now winning fans over for its spontaneity and humor.

The moment offered comic relief during what was otherwise a grinding session for Indian bowlers, who were put under pressure by England’s batters at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Jaiswal has had a memorable match himself. On Day 1, the 23-year-old southpaw scored a fluent 58 off 107 balls, hitting 10 fours and a six before being dismissed. In the process, he reached a significant milestone—completing 1000 Test runs against England. He became the 20th Indian to achieve this feat and did so in just 16 innings, making him the joint second-fastest Indian to the milestone alongside Mohammad Azharuddin. Only legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have done it quicker—in 15 innings.

Jaiswal also broke a 50-year-old record, becoming the first Indian opener since Sunil Gavaskar (58 in 1974) to register a 50-plus score at Old Trafford.

Earlier, England captain Ben Stokes won his fourth consecutive toss in the series and chose to bowl first. With India trailing 1-2 in the five-match series, the visitors need a win to keep their hopes alive.
