A video of Cristiano Ronaldo, visibly frustrated and talking to himself, has gone viral following Al Nassr’s defeat to Al Ahli in the Saudi Super Cup final on Saturday. The dramatic Al Nassr vs Al Ahli clash ended in a 5-3 penalty shootout victory for Al Ahli, after a 2-2 deadlock in regulation time.

Despite taking the lead twice during the match, Al Nassr couldn't close it out, leaving Ronaldo and his team without a major title for the third consecutive year. The Saudi Super Cup 2025 outcome extends Ronaldo’s wait for his first official trophy with the club.

It was Al Ahli goalkeeper Benjamin Mendy who emerged as the hero, saving two crucial penalties. Ivan Toney, Franck Kessié, Riyad Mahrez, Feras Albrikan, and Gelano all converted for Al Ahli. For Al Nassr, Ronaldo, Marcelo Brozović, and João Félix scored, while Abdullah Al-Khaibari's miss proved costly.

Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 41st minute with a penalty, his 100th goal for Al Nassr, after the ball struck Ali Majrashi’s arm inside the box. This milestone makes him the first player in history to score 100 goals for four different clubs: Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, and now Al Nassr FC.

Franck Kessié levelled for Al Ahli just before halftime with a low strike from outside the box. Al Nassr regained the lead in the 82nd minute through Brozović, but Roger Ibañez equalised in the 89th, pushing the Nassr vs Ahli final into penalties.

The defeat marks the third consecutive season Ronaldo has missed out on silverware with Al Nassr, amplifying his visible frustration caught on camera.
