England head coach Thomas Tuchel has expressed both admiration and concern for Marcus Rashford, insisting the talented forward must do more to fulfil his immense potential. Now on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, Rashford has registered three goals and four assists in ten appearances but continues to face scrutiny over his consistency.

Tuchel, who regularly speaks with the 27-year-old, highlighted Rashford’s explosive ability and versatility. “He can be one of the best in the world,” Tuchel told Sky Sports, praising Rashford’s finishing, pace, aerial strength, and two-footed ability. However, the coach also warned that Rashford's output doesn’t yet match his talent.

"I think he still has to make these decisions. He is still young enough to make these decisions, because otherwise he might be disappointed in 10 years with what he could have been and what he may have done," Tuchel cautioned.

The England boss believes Rashford must consistently contribute with goals and assists, whether starting or coming off the bench, and prove himself at both club and international level.

Tuchel also reflected on Rashford’s previous loan stint at Aston Villa, which he described as a bold but ultimately beneficial move. He commended Rashford’s work rate but felt his statistics could have been better.

Rashford, who missed only one squad under Tuchel due to injury, featured off the bench in England’s recent 3–0 victory over Wales. With Latvia up next, another opportunity awaits the forward to show he’s ready to meet the high standards his talent demands. (With inputs from Agencies)
